MARIO KART PROJECT

A year 3 individual university project to create a Mario Kart track that used a theme of our choosing. Below is a pre-rendered flythrough of the track, rendered in Maya using Arnold.

As we were free to create any theme, I opted to create a 'toxic waste' style map. The theme and colours aren't typically synonymous with Mario, however, this is intentional to keep the track original.

The necessary jumps, collectable items and multiple routes to choose are all included to make the track unmistakably Mario.

All texture maps were created manually in Photoshop. The speed boosters are made using a scrolling texture map, again created in Photoshop.

The entire scene came to around 350,000 tri's and used minimal texture space.
