M1 GARAND

A personal project to create a game ready M1 Garand rifle using Substance Painter to create PBR textures. The model can be inspected below using the Sketchfab iframe.

Below is the model rendered using Marmoset Toolbag 3. This also features a basic reload and firing animation.

A high poly mesh was made in Maya and baked onto a lower resolution mesh in Substance Painter.

In my opinion, the strongest aspect of the model is the accuracy when compared to the real rifle. The topology could be improved along with some of the more important UV shells (texture res too low on operating rod)

Learning Substance Painter was a very enjoyable part of the creation process, refining my skills in the programme will be something I will be working toward for future projects.
