BAKED PROPS
Below are personal small projects exploring Substance Painter and working on topology and high to low poly baking techniques.
I modelled the rowing boat in Maya and subdivided it for sculpting in Mudbox. Once the sculpt was complete I baked and textured it in Substance Painter. This project was done as an exercise to practise workflow and texturing techniques.
Below was an exercise in topology and specifically modelling for subdivision. I noticed many popular models selling online were created in this way.
Below are some simple rocks I created again using Mudbox to sculpt the fine detail. On review, for a prop as basic as this, the poly count is a little too high. Nevertheless, a good exercise in creating a natural object.
As part of a larger more complex vehicle model I am currently creating, I wanted to test how the textures would look on the wheels. In this instance, I very quickly modelled and textured a high and low-resolution model and the result was satisfactory. This model has since been updated.
